Saw the aftermath of an accident

Featuring a high schooler in a 4th gen Camaro SS and another in a Cavalier.

Camaro's front end was all crushed in, as was the back of the Cavalier. The Cavalier was also on the other side of the road in a ditch.

My guess is the Camaro was hauling ass up the hill and didn't see the Cavalier until it was too late. Which this being a blind hill I've had to panic stop on multiple times for the same reason, wouldn't shock me.

Both drivers appeared to be okay, which is good.

Shame though, because the Camaro was in excellent condition.

Camaro driver's insurance rates will most likely be going very high up now.

That's the unfortunate truth for sure. Luckily, there's only one F-Body at my high school, and the dude is extremely careful with it, so I don't have to see that sadness. I see a lot of Mustangs that get trashed, though.

This was the only one.

There used to be two 2nd gen ones, but they went away with the seniors that drove them last year.

It's crazy, at 18 years old I had an at-fault accident that totaled two cars (my Miata and a Rav4, only one will be missed) and landed the other driver in the hospital (she wasn't wearing a seatbelt).

My insurance rates? They didn't go up. I have a 924 and a V8 BMW, but the rates for each individual car are nearly the same as the Miata.

Ah, gotcha. A friend of mine has a '91 RS, but that's it for the F-Bodies. His is nice, but it is definitely no 4th Gen SS. I hate when things like this happen.

No, they suck. Neighbor had a 2 door, other neighbor down the street had an identical one, but with 4 doors (both in that dreadful beige). They both constantly sat on the curb, collecting trash and spider webs. I'm sure yours is nice, but you're the probably exception as most of these things are rarely seen on the street, always parked awaiting new parts.

I honestly do like their styling with a subtle kit (all those concepts GM pumped out looked GREAT, honestly).

Oh, dude, I thought you were talking about the Camaro, not the Cavalier! Nah, I completely agree with you. The Cavalier sucks. As you said, though, a few of the concepts looked really nice.

Ohhh, nah. My buddy had tons of Camaros (before he eventually upgraded to a C5, then a C5 Z06). I love them. I don't care how crappy they turn, or how heavy they are. I don't care if I have to grow a mullet to drive one, I LOVE THEM.........except the 74-80's ones, those DO suck.

Ah, good. Like I said, was kinda worried on the first post. Me, personally, I even like the 74-80 ones, no matter how bad they sucked. I always loved the way they looked. The only Camaro that I truly don't like is any Third-Gen with the Iron Duke. And since those are basically nonexistent now, I don't have anything to worry about.

I loved the early 2nd gens, and the final years of them, but those in-between were hideous.
